It wasn't bad, the writing was fantastic, but I just wasn't really feeling it. So, The Near Witch didn't quite sell me for the first 2/3 of the book. I cannot wait to read more by Victoria Schwab. I don't want to give anything away because I don't want to ruin the book, but if you love a good scary story, go pick this book up NOW. I mentioned early that I had goosebumps and I also got the heebie jeebies a few times. Right now I can't even find the words to describe how much I loved his character and Ms. I could not put the book down because I wanted to find out more about him. The relationship building between Lexi and Cole was written superbly. Cole is mysterious and I could not wait to find out more about him. I found myself wanting her courage! Her love for her family just jumps out of the book and you can't help but love her family, too. Schwab gives us a great female lead for young adults to look up to.

She is strong, courageous, daring, cares for her family, and does what she thinks is right, even if it's dangerous. Lexi is an amazing lead female character. I had goosebumps while reading and quite honestly was a bit scared. This is the perfect book to curl up and read by a warm fire on a stormy night, just to make it a bit more frightening. Victoria Schwab does an incredible job writing and does a fantastic job of sharing her amazing world of Near with the reader. Schwab.I was completely blown away by this book.
